Albquest: A digital bridge for albanian children in the diaspora

On the afternoon of May 30th, at the One Connect Hub, the latest edition of the “Product Launch” event organized by AlbaniaTech took place, spotlighting Albquest—an educational platform created to help Albanian children living abroad preserve their native language and cultural identity.

Founded by Kleida Peçulaj, Albquest represents an initiative that intertwines digital education with the preservation of cultural identity. The event opened with a presentation by Peçulaj herself, who shared the story behind the creation of the platform. She explained that Albquest was born as a response to the growing need to preserve the Albanian language among the new generations of Albanians raised abroad.

“What makes Albquest special is that it doesn’t exclude dialects—on the contrary. Throughout my life, I’ve often seen people judged for speaking in dialect, especially those from the north of Albania. That won’t happen with Albquest. We will learn the standard language, of course, because it’s important—but let’s be clear: speaking in dialect is not a mistake, it’s a treasure,” said Peçulaj during her presentation.

The platform includes advanced interactive tools, from language games and literary or artistic activities to the integration of dialects as a way to preserve linguistic richness and strengthen connections to the learners’ regions of origin.

Attendees responded positively, praising the innovative approach and clear vision of the platform, which not only teaches the Albanian language but also fosters a sense of belonging and appreciation for cultural heritage.

Albquest was presented as a clear example of how technology can be used to preserve national identity in a global and mobile context. With a successful launch at the “Product Launch” event, the platform now aims to expand its impact and become a key reference point for the linguistic education of the new generation of Albanians in the diaspora
