She left Albania 15 years ago, when she finished high school, and today she works at Microsoft. Florida Doçi, whose name is added to the list of Albanians achieving success around the world, began her journey at the University of Windsor in Canada. Now, she works as a research scientist at Microsoft.
In an interview with “ABC of the Morning,” Florida shared that it is a significant achievement for her to join the Microsoft team. “It’s a pleasure to work with Microsoft and lead AI, the different Microsoft products related to collaboration and productivity. It’s a personal and professional achievement. I lived in Albania until after high school, and I belong to the generation where computers were a luxury in schools. We learned Microsoft products through blackboards, and for someone like me, who learned this way, it is even more special—especially in a field like Artificial Intelligence,” she said.
Florida completed her studies at the University of Windsor, where she earned two degrees: one in Political Science and another in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology. She later began her Master’s studies in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at the same university. Florida is also known for her contributions to scientific research and has won awards and scholarships. Her work has been presented at international conferences and published in scientific journals.
