OriginAL, a program designed by the organization GERMIN and supported by the Global Albanian Foundation, has officially opened applications for its 2026 cohorts.
The program offers a free two-week educational, cultural, and volunteer experience in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia for young people from the Albanian diaspora around the world.
Now in its fourth year since launch, OriginAL has welcomed 257 participants from 25 countries, delivering tangible results by connecting young members of the diaspora with Albanian culture, history, and with one another. The program helps young Albanians worldwide gain a deeper understanding of contemporary realities in their countries of origin, inspiring them to take leadership roles in important social and community issues.
In 2026, the program aims to bring together more than 150 young people on a transformative journey of reconnecting with their roots, while expanding its range of activities and opportunities.
Who Can Apply
OriginAL is designed for young members of the Albanian diaspora who wish to reconnect with their heritage and meet peers from around the world. Applicants must:
- Be of Albanian origin (at least one parent)
- Be between 18 and 24 years old
- Demonstrate interest in culture, history, community, and learning
