The "Made of Us - A Journey to EU-Western Balkans" campaign, funded by the EU and brought to you by WeBalkans, continues this week in Albania. This awareness-raising campaign aims to promote a positive image of the EU among the people of the Western Balkans and vice versa. Its protagonists are 12 young vloggers from the EU and the Western Balkans, who travel as couples throughout the region. Each couple shares their experiences along the way, creating their own online content.
The EU Delegation in Albania hosted a media lunch today to announce the start of the journey in Albania. Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to Albania, Christiane Hohmann, welcomed the vloggers and congratulated them on their contribution to promoting the EU and Albania.
Vloggers Ornela Zani (@ornela.zani) from Albania and Natalia Orda (@natalia_orda) from Poland set off on their journey yesterday. They will be traveling for seven days, from May 23rd to May 30th, showcasing the best of Albania and the EU's investments in the region. Their itinerary includes visits to various places, including tourist, cultural, and artistic projects supported by the EU. Among the EU-funded projects they will explore are "EU for Culture," which provides assistance for the restoration of sites and monuments affected by the 2019 earthquake. They will also cover "Za Fest," a music festival that attracts attention to the northern region of Albania, and the Roman Emperors' Wine Route, a collection of virtual tours covering the entire Western Balkans region, including Albania.
The campaign started on April 18th and will continue until May 30th, with each week focusing on one of the partner countries in the Western Balkans. The vloggers will cover a total of 18 EU-supported projects, drive 6,000 km, and meet interesting and inspiring local personalities along the way, showcasing the natural landscapes, extraordinary monuments, and unique cultural heritage that the Western Balkans has to offer. The twelve vloggers will document their experiences using their own social media devices and channels, translating their journey into high-quality social media and web content, including photos and videos, which will be distributed through WeBalkans channels.
