A group of students has launched an awareness campaign under the slogan “Don’t let others decide for you, vote”, aimed at inspiring young Albanians to actively participate in elections. The campaign seeks to convey the message that change begins with individual action and that voting is a transformative tool in democratic processes.
The students organized a meeting with professors and various guests, where they presented their ideas and discussed the importance of this cause. Professor Edlira Mali, who attended the event, praised the students’ commitment, calling it a model of civic responsibility. She said: “I am very pleased that my students have chosen to promote an initiative of such importance to our democracy.”
The initiative was also welcomed by guests such as entrepreneur Gerti Boshnjaku and writer Alban Tufa, who emphasized the role of youth in shaping the future. Other young people present at the meeting expressed their support for the campaign and stressed the importance of raising awareness about participation in elections.
Student Marina Zela stated: “We want to inspire young people to be active participants in elections because voting is our voice.” Meanwhile, student Nasibe Nur Karik added: “Change starts with the actions of each individual. Voting is our power to influence.”
The campaign, which particularly targets young people aged 18-25, aims to spread the message of voting as both a civic duty and an opportunity to drive positive change. This initiative comes a few months ahead of the elections, encouraging awareness and massive youth participation in democratic processes.
