European Festival Civic Education comes to Tirana on 14-17 of November 2024.

In the framework of preparations, the CIVIC Innovation HUB and @scidev.center, with the support of the @osf_western_balkans, organized the “Prep LAB” kick-off meeting, which took place in Tirana on June 18- 19.

The #NECE Prep LAB in Tirana aims to set the stage for the festival by engaging local stakeholders and exploring the civic education landscape in Albania and the surrounding region.

As a key supporter of the NECE Festival, the Open Society Foundation | Western Balkans was represented in the Prep LAB kick-off meeting by Vlora Rechica, Program Analyst at #OSFWB. She emphasized that the OSF has been dedicated to promoting the concept of an open society for over 30 years. Now, the regional office is taking this commitment further by empowering regional actors to shape the joint future of the entire region.

At this year’s NECE Festival, the multifaceted theme of BORDERS will be explored, examining their implications in climate change, digital literacy, community work, and migration. With interactive sessions, panels, and awards, this festival is the perfect platform for educators and stakeholders to connect, learn, and create actionable strategies.
