GIVING CIRCLE ALBANIA 2024- CALL FOR APPLICATIONS ANNOUNCED!

July 11 @ 8:00 am - July 31 @ 5:00 pm UTC+1

Call for Applications by Partners Albania for NGOs with Social Impact Initiatives

What is the “Giving Circle” Event?

The Giving Circle is a global event held in 14 countries, bringing together individuals who, through their personal example, donate to social causes, demonstrating a high sense of civic duty and human solidarity. These individuals from various fields provide their expertise, time, and financial resources to support specific projects/causes that bring about social changes in certain communities.

Partners Albania has been organizing this event in Albania since 2018. Over the course of five Giving Circle events in Albania, thanks to donations from individuals, businesses, and civil society organizations, a total of 11,833,276 Lek has been contributed in support of 16 community initiatives. These initiatives span across fields such as education, human rights promotion, youth activism, environment and tourism, sports and culture, psychosocial services for children in need, free dental services for vulnerable groups, and the creation of public spaces for the elderly, bringing sustainable changes to the targeted communities. Through the sixth Giving Circle event in Albania, three more community initiatives will be supported.

Components of the Process:

  1. Call for Applications: Open to NGOs with innovative ideas or ongoing initiatives aimed at contributing to or impacting specific communities.
  2. Selection of Top 3 Ideas: The best three ideas that aim to bring change in the targeted communities will be selected.
  3. Training of Representatives: Representatives of the winning ideas will be trained to deliver a successful presentation during the event.
  4. Presentation of Ideas at the Event: Each idea will be presented and will respond to audience questions within 12 minutes. Each idea’s supporter will present the purpose of their support and motivate the audience to join the cause. The event moderator will invite the audience to donate for each of the selected ideas, with donations being calculated live. The targeted amount for each idea is 300,000 Lek.
  5. Promotion of Funded Ideas: The three funded ideas will be widely promoted through all communication channels to showcase the implementation and results of the interventions.

Why Should You Apply?

  • Opportunity to Promote Your Work/Idea: Present your work/idea to a wide and selected audience.
  • Attract New Supporters and Create New Partnerships: Engage with new supporters and potential partners.
  • Limited Financial Resources: Community projects have increasingly fewer financial resources available.
  • Power of Unity: Collective contributions can make a significant impact!

Application Process

The call is open to all NGOs with an innovative idea or ongoing initiative aimed at improving the lives of specific communities. Interested candidates are invited to apply by filling out the Application Form and Supporter’s Declaration and sending them via email to [email protected].

The deadline for submitting applications is July 31, 2024!

Selection Criteria

The three winning initiatives will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Impact: The idea/initiative should address a specific need and have a visible impact on a particular community or communities.
  • Community Support: The idea should have the support of and include the community.
  • Main Supporter: Each applicant must secure a main supporter as part of the application process, who believes in the initiative and contributes financially or in-kind (regardless of the amount).
