With the aim of empowering women in business, the Kallz Center has opened the call for applications to join its annual program, the Women Startup Competition. This initiative is focused on women and girls who either have a business idea or have recently launched a startup. Now in its fourth edition, the one-month training and mentoring program is delivered by experts in the business field and experienced entrepreneurs.

Startups that join the program will develop their ventures and go through a selection process. Those who improve their business plans, enhance their business management and pitching skills, will earn a spot in the Women Startup Competition Albania, set to take place in June.

For the third year in a row, the main supporter of the Women Startup Competition in Tirana is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), through its Small Business Advice initiative, funded by the EU – Western Balkans Enterprise Development & Innovation Facility (EDIF).

The Kallz Center, a certified facilitator by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and the Startup Agency, will keep applications open until April 30th. The program includes dedicated group work with 60 startups and personalized sessions for the 10 finalists.

Ardiola Hristić, Manager of “Small Business Advice,” EBRD, said:
“The EBRD’s Small Business Advice focuses on supporting businesses through tailor-made consultancy projects, designed to meet their specific needs. Our priorities include supporting companies in key sectors such as agribusiness and tourism, as well as businesses led by women and youth. In every project we support, our main focus is to stimulate and enhance innovation, digitalization, the generation of new ideas, increased competitiveness, and the transition toward green businesses.”

For years, the EBRD Small Business Advice team, with funding from various donors, has made a significant contribution to the growth of SMEs across the country in different sectors, as well as to the development of the startup ecosystem.
