What happens when young people are given the space to create, think differently, and take concrete actions for the future? The answer came from the National Entrepreneurship Festival Gen-E Albania 2025, which gathered around 150 participants and 26 student-run companies from high schools across the country in Tirana.
Organized by Junior Achievement of Albania (JAA), this festival marks the culmination of the “Student Companies” program—an initiative supported by the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF)—which fosters entrepreneurial thinking from early school years through university. Participating students showcased ideas and prototypes aimed at solving real community problems, in fields such as technology and software development, craftsmanship, the environment, agriculture, well-being, and mental health.
This year’s edition was attended by notable figures such as AADF’s Co-Executive Directors, Mr. Martin Mata and Mr. Aleksandër Sarapuli, as well as JA Europe’s CEO, Mr. Salvatore Nigro, who addressed the participants and praised the youth for their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
The winning company of this year was “Silver Spring”, from “Arben Broci” High School in Tirana, which will represent Albania at the Gen-E Europe competition to be held in Athens this July.
Gen-E Albania continues to prove that investing in entrepreneurial education is key to building a generation capable of driving change and fostering sustainable development in the country.
