Global Entrepreneurship Week, packed with activities not to be missed

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s biggest celebration of entrepreneurship, a collection of tens of thousands of activities, competitions and events in 170+ countries each November aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a company. 

Diversity is a driver of innovation and economies suffer if a nation or group of people are underrepresented or face structural barriers – the world needs more entrepreneurs. Powered by the Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week has expanded to 170+ nations since its launch in 2008 with 20,000 partner organizations now serving as GEN’s community-building backbone.

This upcoming week, November 8-14 2021, Global Entrepreneurship Week will gather a wide range of professionals, entrepreneurs, important figures of political fields, and people from all around Albania to participate in all sorts of activities.

Business Academic Incubators That Promote Innovation

The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship opens the doors of the Ministry to students, universities and entrepreneurs of different fields and categories to share the success stories drawn by entrepreneurship / innovation incubators within them. Also, there will be a follow up with success stories to see their continuity and journey. The doors of the ministry will remain open during the week enabling diverse activities.

Entrepreneurship Education Canvas: Designing Education That Activates Student Entrepreneurship Mindset
The main purpose of this event is to activate the entrepreneurial mentality of students and teach them how to create value in insecure, authentic contexts by allowing experimentation, risk-taking and failure, with guests: Yvette Baggen and Erik Boer.

Entrepreneurship Support Programs in Albania
The event aims to introduce the programs that are happening or that will open soon, as well as to share the opportunities, which are offered to new ventures to develop their ideas.

Think global and be global from the start - lessons from global technology advocates

Supporters of global technology from Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, the Nordics and Emerging Europe share their experiences of international collaboration, internationalization and having a global mentality when starting an entrepreneurial career.

Startup Grind Tirana with Vasil Naçin (Agna Group)
Vasil Naçi (CEO and President of Agna Group), November 9 at Plaza Hotel. He will tell his life story in business and of course the lessons learned on a journey over 30 years in business.

Maritime Tourism - The potential of maritime enterprises in Albania

On November 10, AlbaniaTech will participate in GEW with AlbaniaTech Talks, a discussion panel that will bring together guests from the world of entrepreneurship as well as professionals who will share their experiences and opinions on various topics related to startups, technology, cryptocurrency and the future in the business world. If you are a tech addict, prospective entrepreneur or just passionate about the entrepreneurial world, join us at 6pm.

Open Day of Information Technology

The Albanian Information Technology Association (AITA) and Gjergj Canco Vocational High School, in cooperation with AlbaniaTech, the platform of the Albanian ecosystem of Innovation and Technology, under the auspices of the project "Skills for Jobs", will organize the Open Day of Information Technology which will be held on Thursday, November 11th 2021, from 11:00 - 12:30 near the school Gjergji Canco.

This activity will be a good opportunity to bring together business actors, students, teachers, and the school to get acquainted with the curricula and to discover further collaborations in both employment and professional practices. 

The participants will be introduced to the new profiles of Information Technology, that respond to the growing needs of the labor market and skills, such as programming and multimedia, following already consolidated profiles such as data networks, and web development.

Metropolitan Incubator within GEW 2021 Albania will organize the event "Incubators and the first steps of a startup" event conceived in the form of a presentation that aims to introduce the concept of incubators and their contribution to the development of startups and the first steps of setting up a business.
