Gowpreneur finalized its second edition on a Gala evening at the premises of Tirana International Hotel. Supporters, friends, and media became part of the pitching of 7 startups before the jury of investors.
Shkëlzen Marku opened the evening with a special award for the family of the great mentor Ndoc Mulaj, which lost his life last year, setting the whole hall on its feet with few-minute of applause. One of the surprises expected from the Demo Day was the Mentor of the Year Award, a habit already set up by Growpreneur to show gratitude and appreciation for the mentors ’work. The nominees were familiar names as well as young mentors, which gives a sense of satisfaction for the fact that due importance is being given to mentoring and it is becoming more and more inclusive.
The list of mentors nominated by the audience included: Eglent Bici, Erion Nako, Esa Hala, Gerond Begolli, Gerti Boshnjaku, Ilir Rembeci, Keti Gjipali, Kushtrim Shala, Pezana Rexha, Shpresa Rupar, Suela Koçibellinj, Tomi Kallanxli, Valb Vasil Naçi, Zhaklina Rira.
Meanwhile, the list of startups included:
- ArtMade (Production of decorative accessories, handmade for home and body)
- Students Life (A comprehensive platform for students equipped with internship opportunities, employment, activities, projects, and accommodation)
- Potry Venture (A platform that offers Albanians access to the cryptocurrency market)
- Travel Box (Production of organic products for the skin and consumption)
- Visit South Albania (A platform that promotes the south of Albania and the tourist services offered)
- Anarkitekt (Handmade artwork for home decoration)
- Easy Albania (Digital market trading all types of products and services)
The founder of duapune.com, Dritan Mezini, presented three awards for Anarchitect, Students Life and TravelBox, expressing his willingness to contribute to innovation and new ideas. Also, the jury of investors from Albanian corporations selected a number of startups with whom they would talk about the forms of support they can give to advance their ideas.
Growpreneur Grand Prize was awarded to ArtMade, two dedicated sisters, who will continue to develop their idea.
