The EIT Community Hub Albania continues to foster innovation in Albania by hosting its newest event: “Harvesting Innovation – Boosting Albania’s Digital Leap”. Organized in collaboration with EIT Digital, one of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the event aims to align Albania’s innovation landscape with EU digital priorities.
Taking place on 18 June 2025 at the Tirana Marriott, this event will introduce the EIT Digital Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) to Albania. The gathering will bring together policymakers, tech entrepreneurs, researchers, innovation stakeholders and academia to explore how European digital transformation strategies can accelerate Albania’s technological development and digital economy.
As part of the broader EIT ecosystem, the EIT Digital KIC focuses on driving Europe’s digital transformation by fostering talent, scaling ventures, and advancing technologies aligned with European values and sustainability goals. Through its support for digital skills, entrepreneurial ventures, and cutting-edge innovations, EIT Digital is a central enabler for shaping Europe’s and Albania’s digital future.
The opening session will feature welcome remarks and lightning talks from key figures in Albania’s innovation ecosystem, including representatives from EIT Community Hub Albania, EU4Innovation, the National Information Society Agency (AKSHI), and EIT Digital’s leadership.
The second session, “Connecting Innovators,” will offer an interactive opportunity to engage directly with the EIT Digital framework, helping participants better understand the resources, programmes, and support available through EIT.
In the third session, “Showcase Carousel,” local initiatives will demonstrate Albania’s growing digital potential through hands-on demos and interactive challenges:
- DataMaxAI: Real-time computer vision on Raspberry Pi
- DigitSapiens: Prompt-engineering playground with LinkedIn bios
- NCP Horizon Europe Cluster 4: EU-funding Kahoot Quiz
Winners of each showcase activity will be awarded prizes, celebrating local talent and creativity.
The afternoon will feature a Fireside Chat Round, including two interactive roundtables:
- “What does EU-level deep-tech support look like for a 3-person Tirana startup?”
- “How will 5G reshape citizen services by 2027?”
As Albania continues to accelerate its digital transformation, the event will serve as a gateway for local startups, researchers, institutions, and entrepreneurs to engage with the extensive EIT Digital ecosystem. Participants will explore concrete collaboration opportunities in digital innovation, venture development, and entrepreneurial education.
