The Hoxton Academy held its first meeting with all applicants on the afternoon of September 9 at the Coolab premises. An open meeting in which all interested parties, who had so far heard about Hoxton Academy and had came up with their questions about it, were invited.

Hoxton Academy is a project brought to Albania by Kushtrim Shala and Geri Cupi, thanks to a partnership between Twig and ICTSMedia, which has the mission of creating a new generation of Software Engineers in Albania. For 6 months, starting from 9am to 6pm, the 30 applicants who will be admitted to Hoxton will receive all the necessary knowledge and will be continuously tested, with the participation of professors who have trained company engineers big ones like: Apple, Google and Microsoft, to become Full Stack Developers.

Kushtrim Shala emphasizes that at the end of the 6 months, only applicants who will be sufficiently dedicated, will work hard and will be able to overcome the challenges of the program will be able to win a 2-year contract with the companies that sponsor the training.

The matching process between companies and applicants who complete the training will be completely random. At the end of the training, applicants will rank the sponsoring companies based on preferences and the companies in turn will rank the applicants and all matching will be done through a specific algorithm.

Asked by guests, executives explained that the program works 99% of the time online and can be followed by the comfort of your own home. Lectures will be recorded and everyone will receive a copy of them at the end of the day.

-"This is a golden opportunity to build your career in technology and it will change your life," says Geri Cupi.

Currently 300 people have applied and applications will be open until 14 September. One of the sponsors of this training became evident in this meeting and he was Genti Selenica, the founder of Baboon, who said that he immediately liked the initiative and had agreed to finance the training of five students to be recruited later in the company.

The good news was that this training would be the first to pave the way for many others to follow, so if you can not apply do not despair, in the period of March-April is expected to start the training of the second cohort of programmers. Apply here before September 14.
