The 'Butterfly Innovation Award' Fund at 30,000 EUR - The 6 most successful ideas will be awarded 5,000 EUR each
Sarajevo - The Regional Cooperation Council invites creative minds to apply for the second round of the Regional Butterfly Innovation Award 2023, for innovative, scalable, and market-based solutions from the Western Balkans. The Butterfly Innovation Award Fund is set at 30,000 EUR, with the best solution in each of the 6 categories receiving a prize of 5,000 EUR.
Just like last year, you can apply for up to two out of six categories:
• Innovation in industry (metal processing, creative industries, agriculture, green and circular economy, tourism, fintech, edtech, biotechnology, healthcare technology, etc.);
• Green Innovation (climate action, sustainable energy, mobility and agriculture, fight against pollution, nature and biodiversity protection, etc.);
• Innovation in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics);
• Youth Innovation (Open to university or high school students);
• University Innovation (entrepreneurial culture in universities);
• Women's Innovation (innovative and entrepreneurial women).
We invite qualified individuals and organizations to apply and participate in this competition.
Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the Western Balkans. Registrations must fit within one of the official award categories, and innovative solutions should demonstrate an active impact in the Western Balkans.
The regional 'Butterfly Innovation Award' 2023 aims to continue supporting the economic development of the Western Balkans by embracing digital transformation, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering a culture of innovation in the region through showcasing successful innovative achievements and empowering particularly vulnerable groups such as youth and women. The road to innovation is not easy, but we will be happy if we can help you on your way.

The application process is open from today until November 15, 2023. The winners of the Butterfly Innovation Award 2023 will be announced at an event within one month after the deadline.

The Regional Butterfly Innovation Award 2023 is funded by the European Union and implemented by the RCC. It is part of the Western Balkans Regional Market Action Plan.
