INFINTECH 2024, held from October 10-11 in Porto Montenegro, has emerged as a key platform for fintech innovation, drawing global interest from startups, regulators, and investors. With over 400 attendees, the conference highlighted the dynamic shifts happening in financial technology, particularly in the Balkan region. The agenda featured discussions on transformative topics such as digital transformation, AI-driven analytics, open banking, and embedded finance, reflecting the fast-paced evolution of the fintech landscape.

A diverse group of speakers from across the Balkans and Europe contributed to the event’s forward-looking discussions. Martin Moeller from Microsoft led a key session on AI’s role in financial services, while prominent experts from our country like Ledia Bregu from the Bank of Albania took the stage on the second day. Bregu’s insights focused on the critical role of regulation in fostering innovation, particularly in the Albanian financial sector. Her participation underscored the Bank of Albania’s active push to integrate fintech into the country’s economy, furthering Albania’s regional leadership in promoting digital banking solutions.

The conference showcased the growing fintech ecosystems in Montenegro, Serbia, and Albania, with participants from both the private and public sectors actively engaged in advancing digital finance. Startups and regulators discussed innovative solutions for payment systems, financial inclusion, and open banking, while major fintech players from Western Europe added international perspectives to the conversations. The event successfully fostered collaboration across borders, demonstrating the region’s increasing role in shaping fintech’s global future. Apart from Bregu’s participation as a speaker, also other C-level executives from Albanian leading companies such as ONE or Easypay were participating, showing great interests into these topics.

INFINTECH 2024 proved to be a valuable platform for networking, partnership-building, and collaboration, offering startups and financial institutions the opportunity to explore cutting-edge fintech solutions. The conference cemented the Balkans as an emerging fintech hub and highlighted the region’s growing impact on global financial innovation. Business Magazine, a proud media partner of the event, hopes to support similar events focused on fintech and technology in Albania and other neighbouring countries in the future.
