Marina Lusha, the founder of KreoSpace, introduced her startup at the Women Startup Competition. She highly values the platform and other competitions she has participated in. Marina talks about her innovative initiative aimed at transforming how users experience their workspaces. In this interview, Marina shares the motivation and inspiration behind starting this project, the challenges faced, and the steps taken to create a new and suitable work environment for our times.
When did you decide to start your startup, and what motivates you in this endeavor?
The idea came to me in my first year of working in a typical office. I felt the desire to not be confined by walls and schedules. After the pandemic, this idea strengthened further. With the rise of remote work alternatives and “third places,” as sociologist Ray Oldenburg calls them—spaces that create communities beyond home or office—I was motivated to create an alternative work environment. This space combines a professional setting with nature and encourages community building.
What is your mission and vision?
Although KreoSpace is still a project idea, our main mission is to create innovative work environments that promote productivity and creativity. Our vision is to establish multiple locations of these spaces as ecological units, promoting work-life balance.
What are the main challenges you have faced at the beginning, and how are you dealing with them?
The primary challenge is initially finding the right location, which needs to be easily accessible yet close to green spaces.
What stage is your startup in, what are you currently doing? What have been the key steps in this journey?
This startup is in its early stages. Key steps in our journey include expanding the team, securing the first location, and building a community.
What values and beliefs guide you in your entrepreneurship?
We value innovation and community building, support ecological approaches, and believe that creating such spaces can positively impact a big city like Tirana or other places.
What solutions do you offer to the market for your clients?
KreoSpace offers alternative work environments, meeting spaces, or workshop venues located in units with minimal land footprint, close to green spaces. These units have every necessary convenience of a typical office, including suitable furnishings, high-speed internet, and natural lighting.
How is technological and market change impacting your startup?
Technology positively impacts this startup as it has facilitated the option of remote work. Market changes, such as the increasing demand for flexible work environments and the desire to work more as a digital nomad, positively influence by raising interest in being part of these spaces.
What are your plans for future growth and strategies to achieve them?
Our plans for future growth include expanding locations, developing subscription programs, building strategic partnerships, and creating ready-made structures for large companies.
What makes you happiest about the entrepreneurship you have started?
What makes me happiest is the support this project idea has received from Women Startup Competition 2024 and other competitions I have participated in. The thought that such spaces can indeed have a positive impact on employees’ lives is very fulfilling.
What do you aim to achieve in the next three years?
In the next three years, we aim to implement the creation of these units in various locations and develop a flexible subscription program. We aim to always apply ecological practices and encourage community engagement.
