When a simple idea meets unwavering determination, it turns into Development – under this message, NomadTech was officially launched today. This innovative new platform aims to empower Albanian startups and promote a sustainable and forward-thinking development ecosystem.

NomadTech represents a concrete commitment from the private sector to support transformative ideas — creating bridges between innovators, institutions, and entrepreneurship. The launch event took place at the iconic Pyramid of Tirana, itself a symbol of transformation, and brought together institutional leaders, government representatives, innovation ecosystem actors, and entrepreneurs.

Among the distinguished guests sharing their vision for Albania’s development through technology and innovation were:

  • Shqipe Berisha, CEO of the Pyramid of Tirana
  • Keti Luarasi, Deputy Mayor of Tirana
  • Lorent Gordi, General Manager of Philip Morris Albania
  • Blendi Gonxhja, Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation
  • Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate

In his remarks, Mr. Lorent Gordi emphasized that NomadTech is more than just a platform for innovation—it’s a mission.

“We’re not just supporting technology—we’re supporting the courage to change, to think differently, to dare. Innovation doesn’t only come from knowledge but from the will to move forward, even when the path is unknown,” said Gordi.

Speaking on behalf of the Municipality of Tirana, Deputy Mayor Keti Luarasi highlighted the importance of initiatives that support startups, calling them essential drivers of innovation and development.

Ministers Delina Ibrahimaj and Blendi Gonxhja both recognized the significance of this event as a new chapter for startups in Albania. They praised the fact that a private company is stepping in to invest in fresh ideas and foster innovative models that create new development opportunities.

NomadTech is designed to offer structured support for ideas with transformative potential, through:

  • Partial grants for startups with high growth potential
  • Mentorship from local and international experts
  • Opportunities for collaboration with key actors in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem

Ergys Gezka, Project Leader of NomadTech, presented the details of the initiative and announced that starting from April 22 to May 31, 2025, all startups can apply via the website www.nomadtech.al to become beneficiaries.

“Every application will go through a detailed evaluation by independent experts. And for the best, we’re not just offering funding—we’re offering mentorship, networking, and a springboard to the regional market and, why not, even the European one. Today, I invite you not just to apply. I invite you to dare. See yourself as part of a generation that no longer waits for things to happen, but creates them. A generation that takes responsibility for the future and gives true meaning to the word innovator,” said Gezka.

NomadTech aims to become a reference point for ideas that drive change, centered around a new philosophy of corporate responsibility—where innovation, social impact, and sustainable development coexist under one unified mission.
