The Support Program for Startups and Startup Facilitators through Grants and Assistance 2025 has been established by the Albanian Government to stimulate innovative entrepreneurship by providing funding to the most promising Albanian startups.
Recognizing the challenges of securing funds for early-stage development and the high costs of transforming a product or service into a successful company, the program has been designed to continuously support startups and facilitators during a critical phase of their development. It aims to enable entrepreneurs in Albania to build their innovative businesses locally. Beneficiaries of the program are expected to deliver commercially viable models, market pilots, or products and services ready for market launch, as well as secure their first potential clients during the project’s duration.
Eligibility Criteria:
Grants are available to startups and self-declared startup facilitators registered in the electronic registry of startups and facilitators and equipped with the corresponding passport. Applicants may include individuals, digital nomads, and private micro, small, and medium-sized companies established in Albania, provided they are no more than six years old at the time of application.
Funding Structure:
Funding provided by the Albanian Government under the 2025 grant program will cover:
- 100% of total project costs for winning applicants in the first phase – Concept Development Stage.
- 85% of total project costs for the second phase – Validation Stage.
- 75% of total project costs for the third phase – Expansion and Internationalization Stage.
The implementation period for projects in 2025 will be approximately nine months.
Selection Process:
Funding decisions will be made competitively by an evaluation committee comprising specialists from the ecosystem, government administration, and academia. The number of winning projects will depend on the quality of applications and the total funds available or allocated for 2025.
Additional Support:
In addition to grants, the Startup Albania Agency will provide mentoring and training in key areas such as business development, marketing, sales, intellectual property management, and more, tailored to the specific needs of startups.
