In their final year of studies at the “Harry Fultz” Institute, a group of young students—Marlin Nano, Daniel Bundo, Leart Qefalia, and Frajdi Zyla—who were passionate about technology, formed a unique collaboration through the Robotics Club. Over time, their work began to take on a clear direction, and from this collaboration, the group “UNO” was born. Initially, it was a project driven by curiosity and a desire to learn, but it quickly grew into something bigger—a fully-fledged startup called UNO Robotics. Success didn’t come overnight, but rather was the result of continuous hard work and overcoming numerous challenges since the group’s inception.
One of the biggest challenges the team faced was deciding whether to continue working together after completing high school. Many of them had plans to pursue further education abroad, which would have ended any opportunity to carry on this initiative. However, fortunately, all group members chose to stay in Albania and transformed UNO Robotics from a student project into a legitimate business, aiming to revolutionize the technology industry in Albania and beyond.
UNO Robotics is not just an ordinary startup. They focus on creating innovative products using advanced robotics and IoT (Internet of Things) technologies to provide customized solutions for businesses. In a market like Albania, where these technologies are still unfamiliar to many industries, challenges are plentiful. However, for the UNO Robotics team, this is not a setback but an opportunity to experiment and gather valuable feedback that helps them improve their products.
One of their most successful projects to date has been the creation of an IoT system for a client, where numerous sensors were installed in various objects to collect real-time data. Through this system, the client was able to detect defects and avoid potential risks, thus increasing the efficiency of the monitored devices. This project is one of those cases where advanced technology has made a significant difference in the everyday operations of a business.
Another challenge UNO Robotics successfully tackled was the automation of an industrial heating-cooling device. This project required a lot of creative thinking and innovative solutions, pushing the team members to step outside the usual boundaries and face challenges with courage and creativity.
UNO Robotics’ future goals are ambitious. They are working on projects in the fields of agriculture and IoT technology, aiming for their products to be suitable for larger international markets. The team is heavily focused on research and development, investing in the latest technologies to ensure their products are competitive and innovative.
For young people dreaming of creating a startup in the tech field, UNO Robotics’ message is clear: passion and desire are just the beginning. “Passion and desire are not enough to achieve a great goal,” they say. “It takes patience, dedication, and sacrifice every day. Most importantly, you must be aware of your goals and analyze them carefully to understand why you are pursuing a certain path.”
UNO Robotics is a startup that proves that with relentless hard work and a clear vision, even a group of young people can build a business that aims to spark the next revolution in the tech industry in Albania and beyond.
