Begu, through a post on social media, stated that his mission in this new position will be to promote innovation.
"I am happy to share with you that I am starting a new position as director for the Western Balkans at Plug and Play Tech Center! I am excited to be part of such a valuable organization that has been supporting the startup ecosystem for over a decade. With the global reach of Plug and Play, I believe we can create new opportunities and accelerate growth for startups in the Western Balkans region," Begu wrote on LinkedIn.
According to him, the focus will be on creating a dynamic ecosystem for startups in the region.
"In this position, my mission is to promote innovation by connecting startups with key partners such as corporations, investors, and advisors. Using our network and resources, we will work towards fostering a dynamic startup ecosystem in the region, enabling entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and realize their full potential," he said. "I am excited for the opportunities ahead and look forward to working with all of you to make the Western Balkans region a center for innovation and business," Begu added.
He also emphasized that during his work at ICK, Kosovo was positioned as one of the most interesting countries for startups.
"Working at ICK has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented and dedicated individuals in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Together, we have achieved great things, from positioning Kosovo as the most exciting country in the region for startups, to helping countless entrepreneurs and startups achieve their goals, training tens of thousands of young people and helping them find jobs, and creating more than 100 international collaborations," he concluded.
Plug and Play Tech Center is composed of 50,000 startups, over 500 corporations, and hundreds of venture capital businesses, universities, and government agencies from various industries.
