On November 16th, the Western Balkans Leadership Summit took place in Tirana, a special forum organized by Gracism Global and GenHope. This event served as a platform to bring together prominent figures from Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro. The summit gathered well-known names from politics, business, and civil society, uniting them with the purpose of advancing dialogue and offering ideas to bridge cultural, racial, economic, and political divides in the Balkans.
In the complex geopolitical context of the Balkans, such a forum marks a significant step toward building bridges of shared values and fostering long-term cooperation.
The discussion panel featured experienced and knowledgeable personalities, including David Heiligier, Director of Gracism Global; Besnik Tahiri, a politician from Kosovo; Lee Corder, a strategist for peace and development; Dritan Abazovic, former Prime Minister of Montenegro; Tomor Alizoti, a prominent Albanian politician; and Dr. David Anderson, Founder and President of Gracism Global. The panel was moderated by renowned journalist Blendi Salaj, who skillfully led the discussions and presentations.
With his philosophy, “Comprehension begins with conversation,” Dr. Anderson emphasized the importance of profound and honest dialogues to foster understanding and overcome divisions.
Dr. Abazovic also highlighted the risks associated with changing borders, stating, “While altering borders is very dangerous, our mission is to make borders invisible.”
The summit, brought to Tirana by Dr. Elona Prroj, provided a unique opportunity for leaders to exchange ideas aimed at strengthening dialogue and cooperation in the region. In a region like the Balkans, with its complex history and numerous political and cultural challenges, hosting such a forum was a vital step toward a brighter and more sustainable future.
