When the Economy Speaks Green!

On March 24, the premiere of a podcast series arrives that doesn’t simply talk about the green economy—it puts it on the table, with names, numbers, and concrete examples.

At a time when the green transition has become a strategic priority for Albania’s economic development and its European integration journey, Business Magazine Albania, with the support of the European Union through the EU4GreenGen project, brings a series of four podcast episodes designed to do exactly that: bring the green economy down from the level of slogans to the level of implementation.

Four episodes. Four essential themes. Four spaces for dialogue where 14 guests—experts, entrepreneurs, business advisors, and representatives of supporting institutions—share real experiences, challenges, and opportunities in the transition toward a more sustainable development model.

Circular economy, green innovation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and alignment with European standards are explored without excessive rhetoric, but with a practical focus: what works, where the gaps are, and which financial instruments make change possible.

Because change also has numbers. A total of €620 million has been invested in Albania for the green transition and sustainable development, while support for the Western Balkans reaches €6 billion. These investments have impacted key sectors—from energy and power grid modernization to waste management, wastewater treatment, biodiversity, and innovation support.

The results are tangible: over 190,000 citizens have benefited from improved waste management; around 37,000 people in rural areas have gained access to clean drinking water; and 56 Albanian startups have been supported in developing green business models. The green transition is not an abstract concept—it is a process that directly affects everyday life and the competitiveness of the economy.

This podcast series does not offer ready-made answers, but raises the right questions. Is the green economy a cost or an advantage? How can Albanian businesses benefit from this transformation? And how prepared are we for the standards required by European integration?

On March 24, we invite you to become part of this dialogue.

A series that goes beyond a media format—and proposes a different way of seeing development: cleaner, smarter, and more competitive.
