Albania has been selected as the “honored country” at the International Tourism Fair “ITB Berlin 2025.” Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama continues his visit to Berlin as part of the fair, accompanied by a delegation led by him, including the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, the Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, and other officials. During the three days of this global tourism fair, Albania will showcase its natural and cultural heritage. According to Albanian authorities, among 190 participating countries and 5,600 exhibitors, Albania will take center stage as the “honored country,” represented by tour operators, hoteliers, and tourism industry experts.
Business Magazine Albania held a live Instagram session with startups and other Albanian representatives at the tourism fair.
“We are in Berlin, in the heart of Germany, but the presence of Albania feels so strong with businesses from the tourism sector from all over Albania, and there’s such a wonderful Albanian vibe that it feels like we’re in Albania, not Berlin. Together with our political partner, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, we from EU4Innovation are here with 7 startups and innovative enterprises. It’s truly a marvelous atmosphere, and Albania is fully present with all its senses to represent us here in Berlin,” said Marjola Xhelili from EU4Innovation.
Esmerina Hidri and Sonila Abdalli from Space 05, at the EU4Innovation stand, expressed that the atmosphere was very positive even though it was just the first day, emphasizing that such fairs are essential for networking, sharing experiences, and more. “Space 05 is a newly opened concept store at the Pyramid of Tirana, promoting Albanian designers and those from the diaspora.”

“This time, Albania has a very dignified representation, and it’s impressive that it has a very good offer. When it comes to tourism, if you don’t have the right offer, no matter how great the potential is, the final result won’t be positive,” said Arbër Kadia, one of the founders of the participating startups, Patoko.
Meanwhile, Albanian Nights, one of the leading and most representative Albanian startups at the fair, performed yesterday evening and today at the opening ceremony. “It was an extraordinary feeling to be part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the fair’s opening. Everywhere I’ve traveled, I’ve seen that each country has its own nights, and Albania absolutely needed to have its own, which is why we brought Albanian Nights. At Albanian Nights, tourists not only enjoy our culture but also try on our traditional clothing and join in the dances.”
“The energy is fantastic! Albania has a special place at this fair, and half of the people we’ve met here and outside the fair have been Albanians, which gives us a unique feeling,” said Marin Nikolla, one of the founders of Rent from Locals, another startup representing us in Berlin.
As part of the fair, discussion panels and other activities will also be organized. The fair will run until March 6, featuring 5,800 exhibitors.
