On June 30th, new changes in the law for digital nomads will come into effect. All digital nomad workers who will be located in Albania will not be considered tax residents for 12 months, which translates to tax exemption for one year, as well as being granted unique permits for foreigners.
According to the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, Edona Bilali, these individuals bring in 10 times more income than a tourist.
Meanwhile, the EuroNews network published a ranking of preferred cities for digital nomad workers, where Shkodra was selected in Albania. A Digital Nomad Summit was organized in the capital for 3 consecutive days from June 23rd to June 25th, which also indicates Albania's inclusion on the map of preferred choices for digital nomad workers.
