Tirana, July 8, 2026 – Google has completed a major Street View imagery refresh across Albania, bringing new high resolution photographs of cities, roads, tourist destinations, and natural landmarks throughout the country.
The update is part of a broader initiative covering Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, where Google Street View vehicles traveled more than 103,000 kilometers to capture updated imagery with wider coverage and improve the quality of information available on Google Maps.

Street View allows people to virtually explore places around the world through immersive 360 degree panoramic imagery, helping them navigate, plan trips, and discover new destinations.
In Albania, the refresh includes major urban centers such as Tirana, Durrës, and Vlorë, as well as some of the country’s most renowned cultural and tourist attractions. People can virtually explore the streets and squares of the capital, the Adriatic and Ionian coastlines, and the cultural heritage of Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Among the natural destinations featured in the update is the Blue Eye, one of Albania’s most iconic natural monuments, which can now be explored virtually through new and more detailed imagery.
The Street View refresh is expected to bring significant benefits to the tourism sector by helping domestic and international visitors better plan their journeys and discover new destinations before visiting them in person. Local businesses can benefit from a more accurate and up to date presence on Google Maps, a platform used daily by millions of people around the world.
Albania has experienced remarkable tourism growth in recent years, and digital tools are playing an increasingly important role in how travelers choose, plan, and experience their destinations. Through the latest Street View imagery, Google aims to provide a more accurate view of the country’s urban transformation, infrastructure development, and rich natural and cultural heritage.
Google is committed to protecting user privacy. Prior to the publication of the collected images, advanced technology is used to automatically blur faces and vehicle license plates. Street View includes a feature to request the blurring of specific images (such as individuals, vehicles, houses, etc.) by clicking on the “Report a problem” option located at the bottom right corner of the published images on Google Maps. More information on Google Privacy Policy can be found at: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
To explore Albania in Street View, open Google Maps on your computer or mobile device, find a place you want to visit, and drag the yellow Pegman icon onto a blue line to enter Street View. More information about Street View is available at: https://www.google.com/streetview/
