ICT Awards nominees face the jury, winners of the 10th edition will be announced on June 11

Ten years ago, the Albanian ICT Awards took the first steps by bringing together two generations of beautiful minds and heroes of modern times as rising stars, entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, and technology leaders. Today has become a scene of Albanian achievements in technology, Albanian ICT Awards on May 14-15 started its march towards the grand finale that will be held with a Gala Evening and will announce the winners of the 10th jubilee edition.

A final which crowns not only the journey of several months of a generation of young people who have trusted the Albanian ICT Awards to make reality the change they want to see in the world but also a historic moment of a 10-year commitment to serving society and progressing through technology. As part of the final phase of evaluation of projects received during the application period, the jury of the 10th edition represented by Edona Bilali, Altin Petre, Visar A. Jasiqi, Alda Shehu, Azir Aliu, Igli Gjelishti, Gjergji Guri, Elinda Kajo Meçe, Edlira N Martiri, Ilir Capuni, Blerim Rexha, Jeta Zagragja, Ermal Beqiri, and Hana Qerimi gathered in their second meeting.

21 candidates from Kosovo, Presevo, and Northern Macedonia presented to the jury on May 14 at the Albivision premises in Pristina, while 23 candidates from Albania and the Diaspora presented on May 15 in Tirana at the ICTSlab center.

By the closing of applications on April 17, 80 projects and 100 candidates had entered the competition in its 8 categories such as ICT Innovation of the Year, ICT Startup of the Year, Innovative Entrepreneurship Award in Blockchain, ICT Diploma of the Year, ICT Star in Promotion, Woman in ICT, Cyber Security, and ICT Nomination Form. These projects went through the filter of the jury in its first meeting from which came out the shortlist of projects that would be presented to the jury. With a variety of fields, sectors, and application technologies such as the use of NFTs, drones, automation robots, and blockchain technology of cryptocurrencies with the most outstanding innovations. In some categories, the competition was stronger like the Rising Star or Innovative Entrepreneurship in Blockchain.

In a two-day marathon, the dignified presentation of each project in front of the jury plays a vital role in its evaluation by The ICT Awards. The jury was directed by Visar Jasiqi jury member since the first edition of this competition in 2012. Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Mrs. Elinda Kajo Meçe represents the deputy chairman of the jury. Awards and surprises that promote and reward the work, vision, and achievement of young people, professionals, leaders, innovators, academics, researchers, entrepreneurs, and women in technology are reserved at the Gala Evening which annually gathers a whole community of innovation from all Albanian-speaking areas.
