The 106 startups selected as winners of the Grant 26 funding scheme have officially been announced.
As highlighted during the programme’s launch event, a significant share of the available budget has been dedicated to projects focused on technology and the green economy, with the aim of supporting ideas that contribute to digital transformation and the development of sustainable environmental solutions.
Within this framework, the programme sought to support initiatives in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, energy efficiency, sustainable transport, and water resource conservation, alongside projects in information technology, software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, and digital platforms.
The overall approach is to position technological innovation and green solutions as two key pillars of economic development, advancing in parallel.
By far the most dominant industry in this grant call is Information Technology & Software (IT), which accounts for more than 42% of the total allocated budget.
Based on both the amount of funding received and the number of startups supported, the leading industries are:
1. Information Technology & Software (IT)
Allocated budget: approx. ALL 228.2 million (42.6% of the total)
Number of startups: 43
2. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Allocated budget: approx. ALL 52.6 million (9.8% of the total)
Number of startups: 10
3. Environment & Energy
Allocated budget: approx. ALL 50.7 million (9.5% of the total)
Number of startups: 11
4. Consumer Goods & Services
Allocated budget: approx. ALL 42.5 million (7.9% of the total)
Number of startups: 9
5. E-commerce
Allocated budget: approx. ALL 27.0 million (5.0% of the total)
Number of startups: 5
Other industries, including Healthcare, Marketing & Media, Agriculture, Education, and Transportation, each account for approximately 3% to 4% of the total allocated budget.
