It is everyone’s dream to shine in the place where they have laid the foundations of their life. The same goes for Elierta Myftari, who went from her studies in Elbasan to her transfer to Naples and then decided to go to Milan, where she currently lives and works as a lawyer.

She admits that such a road has its difficulties, but apparently, Elierta has managed best to shine in a city like Milan. Elierta has been part of the Chamber of Advocates in Tirana since October 2016 and in 2019 became part of the Chamber of Advocates in Milan.

In an interview for Premium Channel of Radio Travel, she explains how all girls and boys her age of the generation of the '70s - 80s, grew up with the Italian dream.

-“We grew up watching Italian movies on TV and cheering for them, even at world and European championships. So it was a dream and the circumstances made us gather in Italy, more precisely for heart reasons."

After living and studying in Naples for several years, Elierta and her family moved to Milan. She says that she has not encountered any difficulties, except those of emigration, or the difficulties of being a student, a mother, and a wife at the same time.

Coming from an educational background in arts, Elierta made a difference in her studies.

-"I was forced to leave the piano in the early 1990s because there was unrest, typical of switching from one system to another, and it was physically difficult to go in the afternoon and do piano lessons at school."

Then, she studied French at the High School of Foreign Languages in Elbasan, but since she was young she dreamed of being an investigator, judge, or police officer.

Asked about the lifestyle change between Caserta in Naples and Milano, Elierta says that it is different, not only in character but also in lifestyle.

-“The town where I used to live in the province of Caserta, was friendly. Everywhere you would go, you could meet a familiar person, stop and exchange some words, everything was organized just like in Albania. While the north of Italy, more precisely the province of Milano has a great difference. Neighborhood shops are rare, work is further from home, and purchases are made mainly in shopping malls.”

Not excluding criminal elements of Albanian origin, who according to her are mostly accused of narcotics, Elierta emphasizes that she is getting to know more and more Albanians who have achieved important professions and roles in Milano.

-"The more time passes, the more people I know. They could be in the field of law, medicine, in various companies, whether in construction or startups. There is no certain field of Italian society where you can not find an Albanian who has achieved something."
