The call for grant applications for Startups and Facilitators is open! Here are the criteria and rules to benefit from it

If you have an innovative idea or want to support startups, Minister Bilali announced the first call for applications on financial support, for startups and facilitators. The deadline for your applications is June 5, 2022. The available grant aims to support startups and startup facilitators, who develop innovative projects in priority areas for the development of the country, support initiatives that have a positive impact, empowerment of youth, empowerment of girls and women entrepreneurs, empowerment of social inclusion, diversity and social impact and other priorities, according to the order of the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection. 

Grant for support of startups and startup facilitators has a significant impact on facilitating the creation, market-entry, and operation of startups. The objective of this initiative is to help create a favorable climate for attracting, including, and retaining talent and human resources, facilitating and supporting access to financial resources and social inclusion and diversity in defense of democratic values, and promoting and introducing innovation in economic sectors. 

This grant is expected to benefit startups belonging to three main categories such as: 

  • startups in the initial phase
  • the growth phase
  • the expansion phase 

and also facilitators of startups of categories such as academia, which includes private and public universities, municipalities, secondary and vocational education, incubators and accelerators, co-working spaces, which include facilities and equipment providers, and event organizers for startups. 

The call for applications was announced on May 16, 2022 and will remain open until June 5, 2022. The winners will be announced by June 20, 2022 and the signing of the agreement and project implementation will begin by July 15, 2022. The application for grant support will be done online through the website and email address of the Ministry responsible for the enterprise.

The application formats will be completed by the applicant and together with the required documentation will be sent by e-mail to the address: startup@sipërmarrja.gov.al.

Application formats and required documentation must be in pdf format.

The required documentation must be a scanned copy of the original.

The subject of the e-mail should be: startup/facilitator application.

After sending the application by e-mail, the applicant will receive a response via an automatic email, which will confirm the receipt of the application.

The grant management unit at the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship is obliged to submit and review any submitted application, which meets the criteria of this regulation.

After downloading the application documentation, the management unit opens an application file for the applicant and registers the application, which will be provided with a dedicated application number.

Upon closing the call, the application will be received by the grant management unit, which must analyze the application to ensure that the required criteria and documentation are properly met. Following this review, the Grant Manager informs and submits the evaluation to the Evaluation Committee.

If the applicant encounters ambiguities and difficulties during the application process, he will be assisted and advised by the responsible unit at the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Protection.
