The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) together with Rubik Hub, Digital Innovation Zone (DIZ), IMAGO-MOL Cluster, and Innovate EU launched, in March 2026, the WIPO x Rubik Hub IP Management Clinic (IPMC) Program to provide European HealthTech startups with free access to world-class intellectual property expertise and strategic guidance.

During three month, this IPMC brought together 20 innovative startups from more than 18 European countries: Argus AI, Asvel, CLAB Neuro Sound Solutions, Cortiscope, InSyBio, Kelvin Health, Lumnora, Mindship, Misslaboratory, MShield, Neuro Muss, NIMBLE Diagnostics, Partial Eclipse, Promethenz, RareSum, Rayscape, SkyEU, Sinaptiq, Thermo-i, and Tricomela.

Throughout the program, founders participated in 6 expert-led workshops, received over 60 hours of one-on-one intellectual property strategy mentoring, and benefited from more than 15 hours of personalized pitching session designed to strengthen both their intellectual property approach and investor readiness.

Together, the participating startups have demonstrated a strong innovation and growth trajectory. They have collectively bootstrapped more than €3 million, raised over €22 million in investments, generated more than €1.5 million in revenue, created 155 jobs, and reached an average Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 5 or higher.

They develop solutions that address some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges, spanning AI-powered diagnostics, medical imaging, robotics, precision medicine, digital health, and next-generation therapies.

HealthTech Startup Demo Day in Bologna as Part of We Make Future 2026

The IPMC concluded in a Built to Scale – HealthTech Startup Demo Day, an event organized by WIPO and Rubik Hub on 25 June 2026 in Bologna, Italy, as an Official Side Event of We Make Future 2026 (WMF), one of the world’s leading innovation festivals. Bringing together companies, startups, investors, institutions, and digital innovators from more than 90 countries, WMF provided the ideal setting for startups to showcase their solutions and connect with key players in the international innovation ecosystem.

About the Demo Day

Built to Scale – HealthTech Startups Demo Day brought together investors, venture capital funds, pharma and medtech companies, corporate leaders, intellectual property experts, accelerators, and founders from across Europe.

The event celebrated the journey of the 20 startups that completed the WIPO x Rubik Hub IP Management Clinic Program, highlighting how founders are transforming science, technology, and intellectual property into scalable, globally competitive companies.

Following three months of hands-on mentorship, applied training, and direct collaboration with international intellectual propertyexperts, 8 startups from the program took the stage to pitch their innovative solutions and present the intellectual property strategies they had developed throughout the clinic: CLAB Neuro Sound Solutions, InSyBio, Lumnora, MShield, Rayscape, RareSum, Synaptiq.io, and Tricomela.

More than a traditional Demo Day, the event showcased the strategic role of intellectual property in helping startups differentiate themselves, increase their company value, strengthen their investment readiness, and build long-term competitive advantage.

Alongside the startup pitches and networking opportunities, the Demo Day featured the panel discussion “What Does It Actually Take to Move from Innovation to International Growth?”. The speakers Amos Everett Heng (WIPO), Sauro Vicini (Clust-ER Health – Emilia-Romagna), Federica Tadini (G-Factor, incubatore-acceleratore di Fondazione Golinelli), Marco Gullà (Zambon), and moderator Marisa Testa shared their perspectives on the realities of scaling HealthTech companies, discussing how intellectual property, strategic partnerships, and market readiness can help founders expand internationally.

The Winning Startups

The Demo Day finalized with an awards ceremony recognizing the outstanding performance of the participating startups throughout the program. RareSum was named the Best Startup, receiving a 100% MBA in Life Sciences Scholarship offered by the Biotechnology Business Institute. The Audience Award went to Tricomela, while Lumnora received the Most Active Startup award. Both startups were granted 50% MBA in Life Sciences Scholarships in recognition of their achievements and to support their continued growth.

The awards reflected not only the quality of the startups’ technological innovations, but also the progress they demonstrated in developing robust intellectual property strategies, strengthening their market positioning, and enhancing their readiness for international scaling and investment.

By hosting the Demo Day within the WMF ecosystem, Rubik Hub and WIPO created valuable opportunities for participating startups to connect with investors, corporates, intellectual property experts, healthcare organizations, and leaders from the international Life Sciences ecosystem, further supporting their path toward growth and global expansion.
