From a company designing and manufacturing recreational spaces to a platform for learning architecture while playing, 10 startups from the Western Balkans will demonstrate their innovations at the Uplift Demo-Day on January 17th.
Selected as the European Youth Capital, Tirana will host the third consecutive final of the largest startup accelerator in the Western Balkans, finalizing a 4-month journey that brought together 57 applications, 20 of which were invited to the Bootcamp Selection.
The founders will take over the stage of Demo-Day at the Concert Hall "Tonin Harapi" near the Artistic High School of Tirana in front of a live audience with physical and virtual participation which will welcome startups, entrepreneurs, investors, supporters, and partners of Uplift Western Balkans as President of Municipality of Tirana Mr. Erion Veliaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Mrs. Edona Bilali, Minister of State for Youth Ms. Bora Muzhaqi, Slovak entrepreneur Mr. Peter Kolesar and investors like Mr. Elvin Guri, Mrs. Cosmina Popa, Mrs. Eli Zhabevska, z. Martin Bjergegaard, Mrs. Eva Simeokova and Mr. Matej Ftacnik. Organized through close cooperation between SOVVA in Slovakia, ICTSmedia in Albania, VentureUP in Kosovo, and ICAN in Macedonia, and the financial support of SlovakAid, Uplift Western Balkans launched the third edition with the closing of applications in September 2021. Although Demo Day represents the inauguration of a training program, further development and advancement of startups, their products, and business models and innovation, for the 10 startups of Uplift Western Balkans this is only the first step of a long entrepreneurial journey that awaits them in the future.
It is a key moment in the journey of startups who in Demo-Day will present the progress made in the face of media, partners, supporters, and angel investors. At Investor Connect, an event 60 minutes before Demo-Day, 10 startups will meet with investors. More than 50 experts in various fields from the Region and Europe have supported startups along their journey to this final. In the Demo-Day prizes worth 7 thousand euros will be awarded to startups who have the opportunity to raise investments exposed in front of the network of a wide range of Uplift Western Balkans partners and investors.
