Women Startup Competition (WSC) has opened its call for applications and welcomes applications from women and girls with startups until October 5th. Startups in their early stages or those already having a prototype of their product are encouraged to apply to be part of the training program. The top 10 finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their startups to entrepreneurs, organizational leaders, incubators, and representatives from the Albanian government.
A network awaits you in the finals. Three finalists will receive support for further development of their startups, while the winning startup will compete in the international finals of the Women Startup Competition in December. Last year, 30 startups led by Albanian women and women from other countries like Italy and Austria were part of the program. The winning startup that participated in the international WSC finals was Praktika.al, led by Albina Bardhi. Who is WSC?
Women Startup Competition is an annual global startup competition for women-led startups. It was established to provide opportunities for female entrepreneurs and their teams to meet investors, receive support, and advice to achieve their business goals. The competition aims to increase the currently low representation of women in business compared to men. Women Startup Competition was founded in 2012 in Budapest, Hungary. Since then, the movement has flourished and continuously grown, attracting creative female entrepreneurs who have accelerated their business journey through the program. WSC is present in 12 European countries, also offering a series of training and competitions. The goal of Women Startup Competition is to increase the presence of women in business, and to do so, WSC offers training and opportunities for startups to realize their dreams and encourage them to do what they want. The WSC competition series increases the number of innovative enterprises, with the majority of founders being women. WSC works to improve the knowledge of female entrepreneurs, encourage and assist them, and connect them with key innovation hubs, corporate innovators, angel investors, and other potential partners."
